We are Capital Prep

Capital Preparatory Magnet School aspires to create a community of lifelong learners who will be assets to their community by working towards Social Justice.


The Capital Preparatory Magnet School is a year-round Pre- K through 12th grade school. Its College Preparatory environment is wrapped around a Social Justice theme that is integrated into the rigorous curriculum and instruction experience. Capital Prep boasts on the promise of 100% college admittance for each graduating senior. Students discover their passions and immense potential with engaging teachers and a diverse peer group.

Our commitment at Capital Prep is to provide a safe and intellectually challenging environment that will empower students to become innovative thinkers, creative problem solvers and inspired learners prepared to thrive in the twenty-first century. Our primary goal is to help all students achieve their dreams and find success in pursuing life goals. We are unconditionally committed to providing the best possible educational program to our students. We believe that there are numerous opportunities, both within our curricula and through extracurricular activities, for our students to gain the skills that will allow them to be successful in their lives after Capital Prep.


Capital Preparatory Magnet School staff will provide an educational environment that creates opportunities for all students to realize and fulfill their social, academic, and civic responsibilities by developing skills necessary for students to become agents of social change.

Capital Prep has Free Tuition for all Students accepted.


STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics

Capital Prep currently enrolls 191 students as of 2019. The student to teacher ratio is 16:1.
